Assistive Technology Center

The Assistive Technology Center (ATC) is a computer and learning lab offered by the A.R.C. to help students develop computer skills, master use of assistive technology, and foster learning strategies. Assistive technology is hardware and software that help people with disabilities use computers effectively. The ATC provides a wide variety of assistive technology including:

  • Text to Speech – Screen Reader
  • Speech to Text – Voice Recognition
  • Text/Screen Magnification
  • Assistive Listening Devices
  • Alternative Input Devices
  • Accessible Computer Equipment
  • Idea Generation Software

 

The ATC is available during open lab hours. Students with the A.R.C. are welcome to work on class assignments in the ATC. Knowledgeable lab staff are available to help students use the hardware and software in the ATC and to address issues with the college’s learning management system, currently Canvas.
