Step 1

Using point A as the center, draw a circular arc as indicated. The radius is arbitrary, but the larger the better.

Use your compass to measure the width of the arc contained inside the circle, and then make a mark on the arc outside the angle as indicated.

Draw a line from point A to the mark on the arc that you just made.
