Transfer Center Workshops

Workshops are offered throughout the year, including fall, winter, spring and summer sessions. Please check back regularly for updates on times and locations.  For on-campus workshops, you must reserve a space before attending a workshop. Stop by our office (Bldg. 10-173) or call (619-644-7215) to reserve a seat prior to attending a workshop.  However, while we are working/studying remotely, workshop powerpoint presentations have been made available for viewing online.  Please select the workshop below you are interested in for a link to the powerpoint presentation.

Transfer Options (Offered Year Around)

You know you want to transfer but are not sure where to or what the process involves. Take this opportunity to discover options for transfer to a CSU, UC, private or out-of-state college/university.  Learn about Transfer Programs, general education, major preparation, GPA requirements, application deadlines and more!  This workshop is designed for students who want an introduction to transfer information.  Call the Transfer Center at 619-644-7215 to RSVP.

ADT - Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T/AS-T) Workshops (Offered Year Around)

The Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT/AA-T/AS-T) gives students priority admission to a variety of programs at their local CSU campus.  By attending this workshop you will walk away with information about the ADT: what it is, how it works, the benefits, majors offered at Grossmont, and how the ADT can affect your transfer success.  This workshop is designed for any student planning to transfer to a California State University (CSU).  Please contact the Transfer Center (Room 10-173 or Phone 619-644-7215) to RSVP.  All workshops will be held in the Transfer Center, 10-173.

SDSU Transfer Pathways (Offered Year Around)

Learn about how the AA-T/AS-T (Associate Degree for Transfer) and changes to the TAG (Transfer Admission Guarantee) program will significantly affect students planning to transfer to SDSU.  Discussion of GPA requirements and planning strategies will be included.  This is crucial information, not to be missed!  This workshop is designed for students planning to transfer to SDSU.  Please call the Transfer Center to RSVP, 619-644-7215.  All workshops will be held in the Transfer Center, 10-173.

Preparing for Medical School and Pharmacy School (Offered Year Around)

Interested in Medical or Pharmacy School? This presentation includes information about  program length, courses required, residencies, admission tests, what to major in, competencies required, and experience needed.

Ready to Transfer? (Offered Spring Only)

Think you're ready to transfer? Attend this workshop to make sure you are on track with all the requirements and get help calculating your transferable GPA. This workshop is for you if you plan on applying to transfer for fall 2021.

"I Got Denied...", Now What? (Offered Spring Only)

Did you apply to transfer to a college or university and have received notification that your admission was denied? If your answer is yes, attend this workshop to learn about your options. We will share with you information on the appeal process, redirection of ADT applicants, private/out-of-state university options and the possibility of spring transfer.  While campus is closed we are providing access for you to review the powerpoint online.

SDSU Admit (Offered Spring Only)

Have you been admitted to SDSU for Fall 2020?  SDSU is hosting a Virtual Explore SDSU on April 18, 2020.  This online event will include a special Admitted Transfers Live Presentation!  This is your opportunity to view an Admit workshop from the comfort of home.

Fall 2021 applicants check back Spring 2021 for workshop information.

SDSU WPA (Offered Spring Only)

What is the WPA? When should I take it? How should I prepare? Fall 2020 SDSU admits are encouraged to visit the SDSU WPA website to explore answers to these questions.  We also highly recommend the online WPA Test Prep videos on SDSU's website featuring our very own Carl Fielden!  Carl typically gives these workshops at Grossmont; however, as campus is closed we have the next best thing...Carl's videos!  Vieweres will receive INSIDER information about what they need to do to have a successful WPA experience!

Application Workshop - UC (Offered Fall)

Will you be applying to transfer for fall 2021 admission to a UC?  You'll want to attend this workshop to get your application questions answered.  To attend a Transfer Center workshop you must reserve your seat, so please stop by the Transfer Center Bldg. 10 or call 619-655-7215.  When you rsvp for the UC Application workshop you'll receive a packet of materials to complete before you attend the workshop.

Application Workshop - CSU (Offered Fall)

Will you be applying to transfer for fall 2021 admission to a CSU? You will want to attend this workshop to get your application questions answered.  Remember to attend a Transfer Center workshop you must reserve your seat, so please stop by the Transfer Center Bldg. 10 or call 619-644-7215.  Once you have rsvp'd for the CSU Application workshop you'll receive a packet of materials to complete before you attend the workshop.

SDSU Supplemental Application (Offered January Only)

Did you apply to San Diego State University for fall 2020 admission? You will be required to complete the supplemental application by 11:59om on January 22, 2020. Please call 619-644-7215 to reserve your seat. 

Jan 2020 workshops have ended.  Please check back Jan 2021 for the fall 2021 supplemental application workshops.

UC TAG Application Workshop (Offered September Only)

Transfer Admission Guarantee is offered at six University of California Campuses: UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Merced, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Santa Cruz. Come to this workshop to learn about the TAG process and get your application questions answered!
