Grossmont College Cashier's Appeal

The purpose of the Appeals Committee is to review requests from students for interpretation of rules, regulations and policies. The Committee can approve a student's request when it finds that the petition is not in violation of any existing practice. The petition asks for a fair and consistent interpretation of the practice and the Committee decides that approval would be in the best educational interest of the student and the institution.

The Committee cannot overturn, ignore, or change existing laws and regulations. The Committee also cannot rule on instructional matters that involve disputes between student and faculty. These issues should be directed to the appropriate department chair.

Cashier Appeals Regulations and Procedures

1. Please provide adequate documentation to support your statements. The decisions of this Committee are final and not subject to grievance.

2. Deadlines are established by State regulation and can be waived by the Committee only in the event of extenuating circumstances beyond the student's control and when supported by adequate documentation.

3. The Committee cannot rule on instructional issues. We recommend you contact the appropriate department chair.

4. The refund policy and deadlines are established by the Grossmont Cuyamaca Community College District. Refunds are granted only when classes are dropped by the deadline published in the class schedule.

5. Parking and Benefit cards must be turned in to the cashier office by the refund deadline of your class in order to receive a refund (please refer to appropriate class schedule). The Grossmont Cuyamaca Community College District is not responsible for lost or stolen park permits. Lost or Stolen permits must be replaced at the vehicle owner's expense.

6. Refunds must be picked up by the last day of the semester. Refunds cannot be applied to future semesters.

7. The committee cannot rule on Parking Enforcement issues. We recommend you contact the Public Safety Office (619) 644-7654.

8. The Committee meets as needed and a determination will be forwarded to you as soon as possible.
