Enrollment

To enroll in any ESL Classes, follow the five steps on the Future Students Page for Grossmont College.

1. Application

2. Orientation

3. Placement

To complete the English/ESL/Math Placement Survey

  • click on "Students"
  • under Orientation/Assess/Advising, Click "Step 2-Assessment/Placement Questionnaire"

It is your right to take either ESL or English transfer-level courses. The English/ESL/Math Placement Survey will determine if you will benefit from ESL courses. If you will benefit from ESL courses, you will be directed to take an online ESL Guided Self-Placement, which will help you decide your ESL level. If you need help with the online ESL Guided Self-Placement, please contact the Assessment Center at (619) 644-7200.

After completing the Guided Self-Placement, you will be able to see your ESL placement in your WebAdvisor account.

4. Abbreviated Ed Plan

When you know your ESL placement, schedule an appointment with an academic counselor.  You and your counselor will develop a plan for classes you need to take for your educational goal.

5. Register and pay

Registration fees are due within three business days. If you are paying by check or money order, be sure to write your student identification number on the check or money order.

International students can apply and enroll on the International Students Page.
