Griffins earn #4 seed, open playoffs

(11/14) The Griffins have earned the #4 seed in the Southern California regionals which begin Friday at Cerritos College.

The Griffins open play Friday at 2:00 against #5 LA Valley College.

Cerritos is hosting the Men's and Women's games, and parking is free.
Tickets: $25.00 All-Tournament Pass, $10.00 Daily Pass, $7.00 All identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and older and children under 12 years of age.

Hamner named PCAC Athlete of the Week after Griffins capture conference championship

Grossmont College water polo player Justine Hamner and Palomar volleyball player Maci Lerno are Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Women's Athletes of the Week.

Hamner, Grossmont's freshman goalkeeper from Granite Hills High School, recorded 22 saves on Saturday as the Griffins defeated Palomar 11-7 at San Diego Miramar's Ned Baumer Aquatic Center to win the PCAC Tournament and the conference championship.

Hamner has 251 saves on the season, which ranks her sixth in the state.

She's helped lead the Griffins to a 21-5 overall record and a No. 5 statewide ranking by the California Community College Water Polo Coaches Association.
