Organizational & Governance Structures

Grossmont College relies on participatory governance for planning and other decision-making. Our efforts are enhanced with clearly defined roles and responsibilities within our participatory governance structure. To that end, this website provides information on the College's governance structure, guiding principles, councils and committees, and communication and reporting relationships to administration.

Each spring semester, all committee charges and composition are reviewed and recommended changes are made through Administration/Senate Officers Council (ADSOC). These modifications are made by the President's Office and the handbook is posted to the college website. The effectiveness of the governance structure is assessed through the periodic institutional effectiveness survey and modifications are made as necessary.

Our vision of "Changing Lives Through Education" will be achieved through our collaborative efforts. Our commitment to the organizational and governance structures outlined on the website is a positive step towards that vision.

Sincerely,

Nabil Abu-Ghazaleh, Ed.D.
President
