Introduction to Health Professions

If you know your path is Cardiovascular Technology, please attend one of the Program Preview meetings listed above.

Upon acceptance into the CVT program, applicants must also apply to the college and contact a counselor in the Grossmont College Counseling Center (619) 644-7208. Students with an Associates Degree or higher from any institution must have the degree evaluated by a Grossmont College Academic Counselor.  The CVT Department cannot advise students on degree status or if additional units are necessary for the AS degree.

Attention All Health Professions Students

Please be advised that students accepted to the Health Professions Programs (Nursing, RT, CVT, Ortho Tech, OTA) at Grossmont College are required to undergo a background check and a urine drug screening test before starting the program or being placed at a clinical site. We expect the cost of these procedures to be $70 - $120. The student will be responsible for paying these fees.

It should be noted that failure to pass either or both of these procedures may interfere with clinical placement and/or acceptance of the student into the program.

All communication between the program office and the student is by email. All emails sent to the student on the waitlist, and currently in the program, are sent with a delivery and read receipt. If you choose not to check the read receipt, the program is not responsible if the student states that they did not receive the email.
