Part-Timer Hall Of Fame

This part-timer "Hall Of Fame" recognizes dedicated non-tenured English faculty for their distinguished service to the college, their significant accomplishments within the discipline, and their special contributions to the department and its programs. Distinguishing criteria may include, but are not strictly limited to, any combination of the following:

coordination of one or more department projects;
designing of campus programs, projects and/or services;
participation in relevant extracurricular service, volunteerism and community activism;
receiving awards or other significant notoriety;
non-vanity publication within the discipline or related subjects;
innovation and advancements in the pedagogy.

Selection is non-competitive and open to all qualifying nominees. To qualify, a candidate should

be nominated by one ore more active or retired full-time faculty in the Grossmont College English Department;
receive approval by members of the English Department and its seated Chair;
have taught for the Grossmont College English Department any time from 1961 to present;
not obtain full-time classified or academic employment at Grossmont College; and
demonstrate distinguished service during their term as part-time instructors in the English Department.
