Background and Bio

Carole Ann (Jones) Duffy received her B.A. from San Diego State College in 1962, with a major in English. In 1965, Duffy earned a Master’s Degree at San Diego State, primarily in Elementary Education (as a student member of the California Teacher’s Association), but her thesis work completed in 1967 focused on the novels of William Golding.

In 1968, Duffy was hired by Grossmont College and, about a decade later, would teach professionally under the name “Carole J. Baker." She went on to teach for Grossmont College's English Department for the next thirteen years, until joining colleagues Glenn Lane and Fred Stollenwerk in retirement in 1991.
