Grossmont Symphony Orchestra & Master Chorale

Grossmont Symphony Orchestra & Master Chorale

Coming auditions for the GMC and GSO TBA!

The Grossmont Symphony Orchestra (GSO), and Master Chorale (GMC), are East County's answer to quality classical music performances. Under the musical direction of Randall Tweed, the seventy member orchestral and forty member choral ensembles are comprised of music and non-music majors, music teachers, and talented musicians from the community. Both ensembles are by audition only!

With the theme of the new performance season being: Classical Music For All . . . we find ourselves in the midst of an ever-changing world. And it is Classical music that inspires all with its infinite creativity in presenting the masterworks in a fresh and exciting way. The members of the Grossmont Symphony Orchestra & Master Chorale perform music from the Baroque to present day, and in building on the past our multimedia presentations include standard repertoire through film music.   General performances are creatively varied—performances the entire family can afford. Encompassing orchestral, choral, chamber music as well as our String Outreach Program, Grossmont is performing near you! Catch us on Facebook, Instagram and the Web:

The new performance season also offers two core ensembles within the GSO: the Grossmont Symphony String Quintet (GSSQ) and Woodwind Quintet (GSWQ). All ensembles perform a season of varied and challenging repertoire. Based at Grossmont College, the ensembles serve the cultural enrichment of not only San Diego's East County, but the county at large.
