Audition information
Entrance to the GSO is by audition only. Audition requirements include:
1) the performance of a prepared solo excerpt from either a sonata or concerto studied previously with a teacher-the excerpt lasting approximately 4-5 minutes
Please select two contrasting sections: one showing lyric abilities, the other showing technical abilities
2) the performance of several scales, in both the major and minor
3) sight-reading a typical orchestral excerpt for the student's particular instrument, e.g., for Violinists: Mozart G minor Symphony - 1st
