Eligibility Rules

Freshmen
If this is your First Season of Competition:

  • First time competing in intercollegiate athletics at any college.
  • Must be an amateur in the sport for which you are competing.
  • Enroll in and maintain a minimum of 12 units - 9 units of which go towards degree, remediation, transfer, and/or certification at Grossmont College during the season of sport.
  • Must attend an Eligibility Workshop and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Get checked off by the Athletic Training Room.

Second Season of Competition
If this is your Second Season of Competition

  • Complete 24 units between season - 18 units of which must meet progress towards degree requirements.
  • You must have a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Enroll in and maintain a minimum of 12 units - 9 units of which go towards degree, remediation, transfer, and/or certification at Grossmont College during the season of sport.
  • Must attend an Eligibility Workshop and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Get checked off by the Athletic Training Room.

If you are a transfer student from another institution, make sure that you review and check to see if you meet the transfer eligibility requirements to compete at Grossmont College.

Please meet with the Eligibility Specialist to ensure that you are eligible to compete.

Transfer Requirements (2-2 or 4-2)

  • Transferring from another California Community College
  • Transferring from an Out-of-State Community College
  • Transferring from a Four-Year College/University
