Featherstone inducted into Hall of Fame

Longtime Grossmont Men's Head Coach Fred Featherstone was elected by the state of California Community College Men's Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Featherstone has a career that spans across four decades, and he has amassed 305 career victories.

Men make strides in 2010

(4/8/2010) The Grossmont College Men's Volleyball team started fast in 2010 with solid victories over Santa Monica City (3-0); L.A. Pierce (3-1); and El Camino (3-0). The Griffs also lost a heartbreaker to Santa Barbara City in game five 16-14. Perennial powerhouses Long Beach City and Moorpark defeated Grossmont 3-0 in both matches to cap off non-conference play.

In early conference play, Grossmont defeated San Diego Mesa (3-1) but fell to San Diego City, Palomar, Golden West, and Irvine Valley. The Griffs came close to upsetting Orange Coast, losing in five games at home. (See photos below).

Grossmont College Men's Volleyball Program Vision

  • Provide year-round training (Summer, Fall, Spring) in the sport of intercollegiate men's volleyball.
  • Provide full-time academic advising for all current and past players.
  • Provide an academic/competitive environment that facilitates the matriculation process to the four-year level.
