Scholarship application for Spring 2020 is now closed!

Scholarship applications need to be completed the semester prior to the award online on Academic Works.

California Coast Scholarship
  • Applicants must have completed a minimum of 12 units and enrolled in 9 units or more.
  • Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 and have completed minimum of 25 hours of on-campus or community service.
  • Must submit 2 letters of recomendation from staff or faculty at specific college or service organization.

Campus Based Scholarship
  • This Grossmont College Scholarship application must be completed by all students wishing to be considered for the campus-based scholarships.
  • This Common Scholarship Application allows you to apply for several different scholarships using one application and submitting one set of application materials.
  • The Grossmont College Scholarship Advisory Committee will review all applications and make awards to students ranking highest in the evaluation process.
  • Available scholarships are both need-based and merit-based and open to all Grossmont College students
Multiple Scholarships are offered under the general application including:
  • OSHER scholarships (majors vary)
  • Barbara Chernofsky Scholarship in Child Development
  • Dianne Westman Memorial Scholarship (Pursuing career in Marketing or Retail Management)
  • ESL Scholarship (must be enrolled in at least one ESL class and completed 12 units of ESL)
  • Jack McAuley Scholarship (1st generation college student with record of community service)
  • Jack Mashin Scholarship in Intercollegiate Sports (Must have participated in intercollegiate sport at GC)
  • Barnes and Noble Textbook Award (majors vary)
  • Christy Seiler Davis Memorial Scholarship (Re‐entry student)
  • Maggie Barnett Nursing Scholarship
  • San Diego Dietschman Fund (Healthcare Field)
  • Jim Fenningham Scholarship (Social Science)
Carolyn Panak Shushan OTA Program Memorial Scholarship
  • Applicant must be currently in the OTA Program as a first or second year student.
  • Applicant must have completed at least 12 units with a
    minimum GPA of 3.0.

Dream Center Scholarship
  • The Dream Center Scholarship is funded by American Federation of Teacher’s and Administrators’ Association of Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges. The Dream Center offers support and promotes awareness of the issues and challenges that affect AB540 students in our college and community in order to ensure respect and appreciation of diversity, while promoting equal success to education.
  • Applicant must be an undocumented student.
  • Applicant must have applied for Dream Act & AB 540 eligible.
  • Applicant is not eligible to apply for federal financial aid (FAFSA).
  • Has a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Has completed 12 units.
  • Currently enrolled in at least 6 units.
  • Must be an active participant in the Dream Center Program, which provides services for undocumented students.  
Dreamers Movement Club Scholarship
  • Applicant must  be an Undocumented Student
  • Must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 units and have completed 12 units
  • Must  have a minimum GPA of 2.0   
  • Applicant must be an active participant in Dreamers Club.   
  • Must have one letter of recommendation from staff or faculty
EOPS Club Scholarship
  • Applicant must have completed 12 units
  •  Must be currently enrolled in 9 units and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Friends of the East County Scholarship
  • Applicant must be an East County Resident.
  • Applicant must be declared theatre arts or musical theatre major.
  • Students must be enrolled in a degree seeking program.
  • Must have completion of a minimum of 30 units and have GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Applicants must have participated in at least two Grossmont College Theatre productions, either on-stage or back-stage.
The Grossmont College Theatre Arts Department Scholarship will review all applications and make award to the student ranking highest in the evaluation process.
Grossmont College Theater Arts Scholarship
  • Student Must be a declared theatre arts major.
  • Applicant must have completed 24 units and is enrolled full time with 6 units in theatre arts.
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
This application includes two theatre arts scholarships which include:
  • Clark Mires Scholarship in Theatre Arts (Must be pursuing a career in technical theatre)
  • Kathrine Faulconer Theatre Arts Scholarship
James Rodey Scholarship
  • Applicant must be majoring and pursuing a career in creative writing.  
  • Must have completion of a minimum of 12 units  
  • Applicant must be enrolled full-time with a GPA of 3.0 and higher.   
Lee Roper Scholarship
  • Applicants must be majoring in a social science.
  • Must have completed 24 units and have a 2.5 GPA or higher.   
Steven D. Price Memorial Culinary Arts Scholarship
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in the Culinary Arts program.
  • Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 and have completed a minimum of 12 units.
Umoja Scholarship
  • Applicants must be second year Grossmont College UMOJA students.
  • Student must have completed a minimum of 18 units.
  • Student must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and be enrolled in at least 9 units.
