About Us

Via Rápida First Year Experience (FYE) is a student support program at Grossmont College designed to help guide students during their first year of college by providing ongoing social and academic support.

Mission

The Mission of Via Rápida is to create and sustain an inclusive learning community to equitably increase student enrollment, retention, persistence and completion through social integration and academic and student support services. We strive to impact diverse student populations with a focus in Hispanic and Low-Income (HLI) students.

  • Attend a Via Rápida FYE Orientation & Griffin Experience 
  • Enroll & Complete a Math and/or English Class During the First Year
  • Meet with a Peer Mentor to develop a Personalized Engagement Plan (PEP)
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher
Who is eligible?
  1. All First Time to College Students
  2. Students who Submit the FAFSA or Dream Act Application
