CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

"Students studying science or math in college have a higher employment rate and salary than other majors after graduation, according to a report from the Department of Education."

"In fact, a 2014 report from the Department of Education found that college grads with STEM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) degrees earn an average of $65,000, while their nono-STEM counterparts make about $15,000 less."

In his recent book The Jobs Rated Almanac, author Les Krantz ranks 250 jobs according to six criteria: income, stress, physical demands, potential growth, job security, and work environment.  The top ten according to Krantz (all involve extensive knowledge of mathematics):
