Tuition & Fees

  • The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is part of the California public college system and requires enrollment and health services fees of all students.

  • Nonresident and international students must additionally pay tuition.

  • All fees incurred must be paid in full at the time of registration. Student attending both Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges pay parking fees on ONE CAMPUS ONLY.

  • Enrollment and health fees for these students are figured on a district basis

  • Fees may be paid by Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, American Express, cash, personal check, cashier's check, traveler's check or money order.

  • Make checks payable to: GCCCD or Grossmont College. The student's assigned student ID number must be clearly written on the front of checks and money orders.

  • Checks or credit card transactions returned by the bank will result in a $10 returned item charge.

Health Fee

  • The mandatory health fee (accident insurance) shall be for the protection of any student who may experience an injury while participating in a college sponsored class or other activity directly supervised by a member of the college staff at a college approved co-curricular activity.

  • Note: Students that depend exclusively upon prayer for healing according to the teaching of a bona fide religious sect, denomination or organization, may petition for an exemption from the health fee by submitting a written request to the Office of Admissions and Records. Requests for exemptions will be reviewed by the Dean of Admissions and Records and the Associate Dean of Student Affairs.

Fee Waivers and Fee Exemptions

  • The Board Financial Assistance Program provides Board of Governors waivers (BOGW) to help low income students pay the enrollment fee, health fee and parking fee in excess of $20.00 This aid does not have to be repaid. Eligibility requirements
  • Please note: You are responsible for all appropriate fees unless you drop your class before the refund deadline.

 

Exemptions from Paying Nonresident Tuition

Education Code section 68075.6 grants an immediate nonresident tuition exemption to eligible Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders & refugee students who settle in California upon entering the United States. This exemption is granted for one year from the date the
student settled in California upon entering the US. This exemption applies to the following:

  • Iraqi citizens or nationals (and their spouses & children) who were employed by or on behalf of the U.S. Government in Iraq (Pub.L.No. 110-181, & 1244)

  • Afghan & Iraqi translators (and their spouses & children) who worked directly with the United States Armed Forces (Pub.L.No 109-163, & 1059)

  • Afghanistan nationals who were employed by or on behalf of the U.S. government or in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan (Pub.L.No. 111-8, & 602)

  • Refugee students admitted to the U.S. under Section 1157 of Title 8 of the United States Code

Refund Information

  • Refunds are made according to the refund schedules in the printed class schedule and are available from the College Cashier's Office.

  • Please bring your original Class and Fee Statement and a picture ID. Refunds can be made immediately when fees have been paid by cash.

  • Refunds from credit card payments will be credited back to the credit card account. Contact the college Cashier's Office at 644-7660, to initiate a credit card refund by phone.

  • Refunds are only payable to the student and will not be given to any other individual.
