ASL-English Interpreter Handbook

Evaluations

Student Feedback

The Deaf/HH student's communication preference is first priority when deciding which interpreter is placed in an assignment. The Interpreter Coordinator may solicit the Deaf/HH student for feedback at any time. Student feedback is kept strictly confidential and will be considered when reviewing current interpreter/service provider placements or future placements.

Evaluations/Observations

The Accessibility Resource Center is accountable to monitor the quality of interpreting services under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It is the goal of the Interpreter Coordinator to observe each interpreter at least once an academic year. This informal evaluation process is an opportunity to provide feedback to the interpreter to help identify strengths and possible areas of improvement.

Service providers providing real-time captioning services accommodations may be observed by the Interpreter Coordinator as well. Feedback will be directed to the agency sending the service provider.
