ABOUT THE LYRICS:
This song opened the set performed by Lester Bangs at CBGB's, June 12-14, 1977. Bangs was accompanied on stage by musicians Jody Harris, David Hofstra, Jay Dee Dougherty, and Robert Quine. Bangs began the song as a straightforward cover of the popular 1963 Beach Boys track from their album Surfer Girl. However, after the first few lyrics, Bangs switched to his own original lyrics.
