he Sculpture Club, the International Club, and the Spanish Club (and other language clubs) will participate in this event featuring different countries and/or cultures at tables or booths. Derek Cannon and his student ensemble will provide Afro-Cuban music, and Ken Anderson's student Gospel Choir will also perform.
Navajo Code Talker Joe Morris, Sr. Friday, November 17, 2006, 6:30 pm., Student Center
Joe Morris, one of only a handful of surviving World War II code talkers, presents. Army officers in World War II hit upon a novel, and native, way to let American forces communicate in a code no enemy could break. They let Native Americans talk, in their own language, broadcasting in the clear because, with the difficulty of their language, there was no need for encryption. They were the famous "Navajo Code Talkers." Also sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa, the campus honor society, in conjunction with the Grossmont College Foundation, the Cross-Cultural Studies Program, and WACC.

Holiday minstrel musicians perambulate the Quad with seasonal music to brighten the end of the semester for stressed students preparing for examinations.
